I am so tired of misinformation and often complete nonsense when it comes to diets and genuine, permanent weight loss.  Every Diet Expert is self proclaimed and I have yet to see a diet which has been founded on scientific research with evidence of properly conducted human trials.

It’s as if we suspend our common sense when we respond to advice about any product remotely linked to our vanity.  Beauty products and weight loss products are probably the greatest examples.  We want to believe they work, we kid ourselves that they work and we blame ourselves when we realize they haven’t worked.

In the case of diets there is the added dimension of risk to our health.  Each time we trustingly embark on some new ‘cannot fail and it’s so good for us’ diet we take a risk.  Most times, all that happens is that within a month, sometimes a year, we find ourselves back to where we started, not just with the weight we had before, we now have extra weight.  Have you ever stopped to wonder why?

Everything has at least one reason.  Thirty to Forty years ago weight problems and particularly obesity were very rare.  People with medical conditions like an underactive thyroid or diabetes were practicably the only people who were permanently overweight, and type2 diabetes was unheard of.

What happened forty years ago, was the birth of the diet food industry and the new professions of nutritionist and dietician.  All these groups will tell you that over time, they have made an enormous contribution to the health and weight of us all.  I think it’s time we analyze that contribution.  How?  By taking a good look at the people we pass in the mall.  Are you seeing an increase in slim people? I don’t think so!

Forty years ago, we still relied on our body’s mechanism to control our weight as we had done for centuries.  An obesity Epidemic would have been a ridicules notion.  We knew by instinct what was good and what was bad for us to eat.  The percentage of overweight people was very small and obesity was almost unheard of.  When present, it was usually a medical condition not a food problem.

Unlike now, there was no need to seek a way to get permanent weight loss, we already had it and practiced it daily.

Today, sixty percent of our population is overweight, and the numbers are growing daily.  Many of these people are, or will go on to become obese.  Yet, never before, were there so many experts or products available to assist us to lose weight and to ‘get healthy’.  The diet industry is one of the biggest most lucrative industries on the planet and the most amazing thing about that?  The fact they virtually didn’t exist until forty years ago.

What is the second most amazing thing?  Not one of the diets so aggressively promoted for the past thirty years, have had to undergo scientific scrutiny.  No genuine data has been published and no trials have been conducted with human participants. Not for a single diet.

Like me, you might now realize that the growth of the diet industry originates at the same time and has kept well in step with the growth of the human body.  A coincidence?  I don’t think so!

Human beings were not designed to be overweight, nor were they designed to diet.  Nature had its own way to deal with the food we used to eat.  But like so often, we had to go one better than nature.  The price we have paid is to lose touch with our time worn instincts and our body’s ability to deal with the food we eat.  we have simply forgotten the rules about how and what to eat.  What is worse, we have caused damage to our body.

My Own Plan was written specifically to reverse the damage before it is too late and to get back to permanent weight loss…Forever!

I don’t know exactly when it began, but sometime, in the last thirty to forty years, it has become the standard, unquestionable belief that a regular diet is necessary for good health.  If you do not count your calories, you will put on weight and if you do not eat the prescribed food groups, your health will suffer.  This sounds very plausible until you stop long enough to realize that is not what nature prescribed for us.

A diet is not necessary to lose weight. It never has been.   No diets can work permanently and if the weight loss is not permanent, what is the point?  If you want to lose weight for good, then you must do what your body dictates and your body is not designed to diet.

For many hundreds of thousands of years, modern people just like us, not only survived, but thrived on a very different diet without any such requirements.  Had they not been on a healthy diet, they would have perished.   On the broad spectrum of history, if not common sense, people did very well until diets were introduced some thirty to forty years ago, and they have done very badly since then.

Every day we are learning of the risks and dangers of interfering with nature’s own design.  We have exploited the earth’s natural resources and we have abused our environment.  Climate change is our punishment and our descendants will pay dearly for that.  We are beginning to pay already.  It should therefore not be such a surprise to learn that since the mid twentieths century, we have experienced a similar type of intervention, by vested interests who have redesigned our diet and introduced foods which are not only bad for us, our bodies are incapable of processing them.

The evidence of this can be seen everywhere.   People are growing fat and digestive problems are multiplying.  A look at the shelves at your local pharmacy will confirm that.  We learn that two thirds of the population is overweight, and the number is growing by the day.   We hear that there is now an official epidemic of obesity.  Type 2 diabetes is connected to obesity and a boom in that very dangerous disease follows close behind.   Because of our wonderful advances in science, most of the deadly diseases in the past are now curable or are being treated with a lot of success.  The one disease nobody seems to have an answer for is the fact that everybody seems to get fat and diets never work for long.   The planet may or may not survive, but it is becoming equally questionable whether or not we will be around to find out.

By the standards and advice of today’s ‘weight problem experts’, theoretically, humankind could not have survived.  We would be an extinct species by now.  Of course, that could not really have happened because the food these experts want us to eat simply were not available till the twentieths century.

By now, this should at least give you some food for thought.  If you hold doubts, let me point out that the diets promoted by these experts, and have been so readily accepted by the majority of people, have never undergone scientific scrutiny.  No human trials have ever been conducted to prove any part of what we call a diet actually works.  The diet advice we get today is based on urban myths, optimism and a strong belief that if foods look fresh and sound healthy and a feasible theory can be concocted to present it as a diet, then it must be good.   Often these diets don’t even pretend to be weight reducing.  We have come so far down this road, that we are ready to believe that a diet is good for its own sake.

It is tragic that this kind of mass deception can continue unabated when all it takes is a shift in perception to see what a fraud it really is.  Weight problems and obesity were not common issues in the sixtieths or even the seventieths.  People ate three meals a day, there was plenty of junk food around and there was no shortage of sweet products.  There were also no Nutritionists or Diet Food Manufacturers.  Wake up and get the solution before the cure kills you.

Five years ago I was overweight.  In fact, I was the heaviest I’d ever been.  I knew I had to diet but I also knew that diets had never worked for me in the past.  Within a year, the weight was always back and I was invariably bigger that when I started.

Over a period of thirty years, I had been on just about every diet invented, always with the same result. I would lose weight only to begin to put it all back on as soon as I stopped the diet.  Let’s be honest, nobody can diet forever.

So five years ago I made an inspired decision.  Whatever it took, I would find a way to cure my weight problems for good. I began by asking myself; how can I lose weight without a diet?  And how can I make it a permanent weight loss“?  I had to find a way that would keep the weight off AFTER I lost it because that’s where I had always failed before.

I took my search to places I doubt anyone had ever searched before and eventually, by luck or by fate I found that elusive solution. I spent five years using it, getting experience and tracking the results.  All the while, I watched and waited for someone more qualified to make the same discovery and publish a paper on it.

When nothing happened, not even when obesity was declared an epidemic, I came to the conclusion that I had an obligation to share what I had discovered. I felt five years of data would silence even the harshest critic. The fact is; I have discovered a genuine, permanent cure for my weight problems.  I have remained at my normal weight for five years and I have done it without a diet, with little if any exercise, and without counting a single calorie.  I have no doubt that anyone, who does not suffer a diet related medical problem, will see the same incredible benefits that I did.

As a result, I am really proud to be able to say that I have written a book, My Own Plan, by Kirsten Plotkin.  It’s an account of five years experience with my discovery.  I have no doubt it will be able to help many thousands of people to overcome their weight problems.

What makes it all the more important is the knowledge that weight problems and obesity have become a generational problem. They are affected by the habits and lifestyle of every family. I can now show you how to break that cycle and prevent weight problems being passed from one generation to the next.

By using the book My Own Plan, you will not only get back to your normal weight and stay there, but your entire family can do the same.  You have the power to make this be the last generation, at least in your own family, to suffer with any kind of weight problems.

My Own Plan will tell you how we have gone from a majority of slim people thirty years ago, to a majority of fat people today.  You don’t need a science degree to follow this book.  All you need is to decide to take this first chance ever, to do something about your weight which will actually work.  Not for a month, not for a year, but forever.

How did a retired, business woman like me, discover the reason behind the current epidemic of weight problems and obesity and better still, how did I get a permanent weight loss without a diet?

We are confronted with one of the most pressing health issues in the western world today.  It is reasonable to expect every research facility around the globe to be working flat out on a genuine permanent cure for weight problems and obesity.  Please don’t hold your breath.

Today, two thirds of the population is already overweight.  We all know about the damage large scale human intervention can do with say, climate change.  But few people, yet, will be aware of the disgraceful, largely ignored human intervention with added foods we were never meant to eat.

We follow diets created by people we wrongly believe have legitimate science or medical credentials.  They claim their diets are safe and have greatly contributed to our health and that of our children.  It is true, their diets have had an effect on our weight but what does that mean? Take a look around on any busy street and you will see the result for yourself. Thirty to forty years ago, NORMAL used to mean SLIM.

So, to anyone who is at that crossroad where we ask ourselves; do I start yet another diet or do I let nature take its course?  First of all, it is highly unlikely nature had anything to do with your weight problem.  Your body is as much a victim as you are.

The one answer I can give you with certainty: You do not want to go on another diet.  They do not work, ever!  They break nature’s rules and sooner or later the weight will be back.  Each time the weight returns, it will bring an extra bonus, more weight.

There was a time when diets were rare, when people knew what foods to eat because their parents and grandparents had taught them, They in turn had learned it from their parents. People were in tune with their body and knew what it needed.  That would be eons ago right?  Well, no! Just thirty to forty years.

Parents still control what their children eat, but they are guided by the experts. The foods being recommended are not what your body wants. They are voodoo science by self proclaimed experts, who defy logic and ignore evidence that people get fat when they eat the wrong food.

They even blame the victims. We, the dieters don’t listen to the experts, we don’t eat the foods they recommend, we have no will power, we eat all the bad foods etc.  Nothing could be further from the truth. The problem is not the Dieters. The problem is the Diet. You see, we DO listen and we DO try to stay on those diets. The fact is our body will not allow us to change our digestive system.

I find it utterly amazing that it has been left to an amateur like me to discover a cure. But I am sure a permanent cure for weight problems is not what the diet industry has longed for.  Be warned; there are many vested interests involved in what ends up on your food plate.

So, yes; I did discover a way to cure my weight problem, permanently, without diets and without counting calories. The most important thing about it is that It Is Not a Diet. Not only will you finally be happy with your body, but so will Nature.

Kirsten Plotkin,

Author of My Own Plan

Counting calories has become as normal as brushing our teeth. We are wired up to worry about calories which we seem to treat as a kind of barometer to our weight.  In truth, you can lose weight without calories, because calories do not matter.  Calories serve only one useful purpose; they make you think you are in control.  They distract you from the fact that if you eat less food than you need, you will be hungry and you will lose weight. That’s called a diet.

Calories are a bit like worry beads, playing around with them takes the focus off the hunger. You can combine diet foods in hundreds of different ways, but you will never escape the fact that if it involves less food than normal it is a diet and you will be hungry.  Nobody can stay hungry forever.  In your mind you may think; I can do this! And you will mean it because you will do what it takes to lose your weight for good.  But it never is for good because your body is not going to let you do it for long.

You have not been designed to diet and the body will always fight back.  It has clever defenses’ like cravings and binges to keep you in line.  Sure, you will lose weight for a while, but if you keep it up, hunger will eventually drive your body to switch into famine mode. That means all but the most essential food you require for energy will be stored on your body as fat.

Your body is now in charge and it will use its arsenal of tactics to make you eat more so it can store more fat for protection, right there on your hips and thighs, anywhere it can create a cushion.  That’s to help you get through the long, difficult famine ahead. Why a long, difficult famine?  Well chances are you have been through diets before and the body has learned from experience that such famines need extreme measures.

Only the most motivated dieter gets much beyond this point before giving up. The weight loss you have managed to achieve will not be back immediately, but bit by bit it will return till, eventually, you find yourself with more weight than when you began. This is your body’s way of protecting you against a future famine. In other words, the more you diet, the more you compound your weight problem.  You will eventually realize that this is a battle you cannot win.  Long term all diets fail, why?  Because diets were never part of nature’s design.

So it is not just hunger that defeats you.  Sooner or later your body steps in to protect you from yourself.

The Diet Industry claims they are not to blame for their numerous failed diets.   People are at fault because they do not follow the rules. That is just a plain insult.  People really DO have will power and many DO actually persevere with diets against impossible odds.  In the end, they fail because the product is no good. We cannot challenge nature and win. That is why we can say categorically that diets never work long term…Ever!

Think about it, if, over the past forty years just one single diet had proved to work permanently, we would all know about it.  There would not be a person left on the planet with a weight problem.  Try to imagine a diet as if it is some other project you are about to create.  Your instructions will be to put your best efforts into it and never rest, because the moment you do, your wonderful project will slowly collapse.  I ask you, would YOU start that project?

So what about calories? Let’s face it, once you realize that diets don’t work why would you bother to count calories?

I wonder if you know that most people in the sixtieths and seventieths were not only unconcerned with diets and calories, they had no need to care. In those days the vast majority of people were of normal weight. Yet today, we learn that two thirds of the population is overweight and governments are talking about an obesity epidemic. What happened in such a relatively short time?  Human Intervention happened!

But this is not about the problem.  This is about the solution, and yes, there most certainly is a solution to how you can lose weight for good. The great thing about it is that unlike a diet this will not involve any hunger. Your body will not be under threat so it will have no cause to raise the alarm. You will not need a diet to get rid of your weight and you will not have an excuse to count calories because you won’t be hungry.

It may sound too good, but that’s because till now you have seen your weight problem as a huge obstacle to the things you want in your life and none of us ever really believe that we can get everything we want.  So let me reassure you by telling you that not only will the results make YOU happy, but your body will be happy and nature will finally approve!

You will be amazed how quickly you will come to view your permanent weight loss as something you don’t have to think about.

Normal weight will finally be one of those things you take for granted.

This may seem like a ludicrous question.  Everybody knows diets never work permanently right?  It’s true, but the book My Own Plan by Kirsten Plotkin has some very different things to tell you about food and diets. The book is an eye opening challenge to everything we wrongly believe are scientifically proven facts about diets and nutrition.

We are urged daily to follow a diet based on complex carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables, some proteins and a small amounts of reduced fat, (whatever that is).  This is not the diet on which we evolved and thrived for centuries, which made us the lean, healthy human beings we were till just thirty to forty years ago.

In the course of forty years, it has become widely accepted that to be healthy, people must follow a healthy diet, prescribed by literately thousands of self proclaimed ‘diet experts’.  Nowhere in our past history was it ever suggested that a ‘diet’ was necessary for good health.  Our body was already created to control our weight with the types of food evolution prescribe.

If you examine the contrast of body shapes between the people who were young forty years ago, to the people who are young today, you can be excused for saying; the only advancement which can be attributed to the diet industry since then, is a fast growing epidemic of obesity and type2 diabetes.

Today, our health is not a testament to what is referred to as a ‘healthy diet’. It’s a testament to our amazing resilience to withstand the damage of foods which nature never intended us to eat.

In the past, most people knew instinctively what foods to eat. Their instincts must have worked, because people didn’t tend to put on weight. They didn’t suffer food cravings. They rarely became obese, and when they did, it was usually due to a medical condition like an under active thyroid or Diabetes.  No one had even heard of Type 2 Diabetes.

Then along came the cereal manufacturers, followed by Nutritionists, Dieticians, and Diet Food Manufacturers.  Here was a new pseudo science, dressed in a cloak of legitimacy, but without a shred of genuine scientific research to back it up.

We would not feed our animals on a diet of complex carbohydrates, breakfast cereals, low fat snack foods, and vast amounts of fruit and vegetables.  If we did, we would see our pets become fat, listless and unhappy.  They could even die.  Yet, we seem to advocate this as a healthy diet for human beings.

Too many vested interests control the foods we eat today.  We need to take responsibility for our own choices and stop listening to those who preach what is clearly in their own interest.  We can no longer afford yet another guru diet, which is not based on genuine science, offers not a shred of genuine research, or statistics on human trials.  Let’s make no mistake here; to these ‘‘experts’, we ARE the Research.

Sometimes we need to remind ourselves where we come from.  Different mammals may have different digestive systems, but we cannot stand in the face of nature and decide to change the system already decreed for the human body.  Not without consequences.

Wherever we see human intervention to nature, we see trouble.  A good intention, even when genuine, is no proof of anything except good intentions.  Nutritionists and Dieticians seem to genuinely believe they have made a valuable contribution to the health and welfare of the world.  Since this is a bold claim, based not on science, but on optimism, it is appropriate to take a good look around and get the measure of the average person you pass in the street today.  Then ask yourself; where is the evidence?  If those claims were true, weight problems would have, at least, diminished by now.  Instead, we are faced with an official epidemic of obesity.

It’s time to accept that weight problems do not rest with the dieter, the problem is the diet.

Today, more than sixty percent of the population is classified as overweight.  Many are already obese and many more will follow.  For those who slide into obesity, there’s just a short step to what we call type2 Diabetes.  This is yet another phenomenon no one had heard of forty years ago.  We need to discard the latest so called ‘healthy balanced diet’, the newest in a forty year old tradition of carefully constructed and ultimately discredited diets.

We need to get back to basics. We need to re-learn the right foods because we seem to have forgotten what they are.  This book answers three very important questions.  Why it is so hard to lose weight?  Why, when we repeatedly diet, does it become ever more difficult to lose weight?  And why, when we finally lose some weight, can we never get a permanent weight loss?

The book, My Own Plan, will prove to you, the cause of most weight problems as well as non-medical obesity.  It will prove that no matter how bad your weight has become, you can change it and if you follow My Own Plan, you CAN get a permanent weight loss without dieting.  You will never have to count calories again.

That’s what I asked myself five years ago.  I searched Google but did not find a single, meaningful answer to the question; how can I get a permanent weight loss? If you take a look yourself, you will see lots of promises about weight loss, even permanent weight loss, but all of them require calorie control and none of them can promise you won’t put the weight back on again.  Yet isn’t that what a permanent weight loss means? And isn’t that what counts?

I have just published a book based on five years experiments with a discovery I made back then.  It is a discovery which has enabled me to stay slim for the past five years.  Yet, I had struggled with my weight for the previous thirty years.  Not only do I look a lot better, I feel great and I cannot remember a time when I had more energy.

What has made this possible? First of all, I discovered That Diets Don’t Work,  they never do.  They can’t work because they contradict nature.  That applies no matter how convincing or how healthy a diet sounds, it will not work.  You were not designed by nature to diet, and the moment you have to count calories to lose weight, you have already defeated yourself.

You see, our body was created with a natural weight controller, which nature designed to help adjust and keep our weight stable.  The moment we start messing with calorie charts and food groups we are already eating foods we were not designed to eat and we are depriving our body of adequate sustenance.  This means we send famine messages to our body, and we ultimately interfere with the natural mechanism.

Most of us, who have dieted several times, reached a point when we lost the ability to control our weight.  The result is, we have had to rely on ‘experts’ to advice us how to lose weight and the ‘experts happen to be the creators of the very same diets which caused our problems in the first place.

It is not possible to lose weight on a diet for long.  Very soon we are destined to put the weight right back on again.  Each time we try, we put on more weight than we had when we began.  At least the body still knows how to protect itself, even if it is for the wrong reason.  You need to learn how to sort this out because it is not going to get better till you do.

What I have learned really should have been discovered long ago, by a professional.  It should have come from a scientist or a medical research facility and I waited five years for that to happen.  When it didn’t and when I heard we now have an obesity epidemic, I realized I had to do something.  So I wrote a book based on everything I had learned.  I called it My Own Plan and I published it on the internet.

The book will prove to anyone who reads it, the reason why this has happened, how we can stop it and how we can reverse the process.  We need to make sure our body can once again function as nature meant it to do.  If you follow this book, you will be slim and you will know exactly how to stay that way without a diet, without formulas, without pills and even without exercise.

If all this sounds too fantastic, ask anyone who was an adult forty years ago and they can tell you that back then most people were slim. Slim Was Normal.  Ongoing weight problems were rare and usually caused by a medical condition like thyroid or diabetes.

Forty years ago, slim people were by far the majority.  Type2 diabetes had never been heard of and obesity was an abnormality. Today, most people, some sixty percent of the population, are clinically overweight.  No one believes that this problem is NOT going to grow worse with each year that passes.

The greatest tragedy of all is that it is no longer a problem confined to the individual.  It has become a generational problem and a ‘family problem’.  We now seem to pass our weight from one generation to the next.  Children inherit the parent’s lifestyle along with the weight.  With each generation the problem gets worse.

We have to stop it.  We cannot allow this to affect yet another generation, there is an answer, and there is a cure.  Only you can act.
